NEW

Christophe Galtier, the current manager, is anticipated to be fired soon, and a deal to bring in Enrique, who caught the attention of both Chelsea and Tottenham earlier this summer, is almost complete.

PSG's long-standing interest in Silva was brought up during Enrique's discussions with the team, and sources have revealed to 90min that the Spaniard has given the go-ahead for a bid to be made for the City midfielder.

Silva has informed City that he intends to leave the club this summer and has received a lot of interest. Silva is said to have a tight relationship with PSG advisor Luis Campos from their shared time in Monaco.

Barcelona has long been interested in Silva but is unlikely to have the funds to match City's £75 million asking price. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia has given Silva, 28, an offer of £80 million a year.

PSG is prepared to make an offer for Silva because they believe he would make a great Lionel Messi replacement. The City midfielder's entourage has already spoken with Campos, but it was made clear that Silva would not consent to a transfer to Paris unless a replacement for Galtier was found.

According to sources who spoke to 90min, Barcelona winger Ferran Torres is not currently considering a summer transfer to Aston Villa.

After qualifying for the Conference League for the upcoming season, Villa are trying to strengthen their team in preparation for their return to European play.

Pau Torres, a centre back who worked for Villarreal under Unai Emery and was a member of their Europa League-winning team in 2021, is about to be signed by them.

Nico Williams will, however, be passed up by Villa as he will sign a new contract with Athletic Club, according to a 90min story from earlier this week.

Since Barça is willing to sell, they have since turned their focus to former Manchester City wide receiver Torres.

90min is aware that Villa's discussions with Barcelona have been fruitful and have advanced over the week, but Torres' unwillingness to travel to the West Midlands is the main roadblock.

Ansu Fati has also been connected to a transfer to England, but he refuses to leave Catalonia. According to reports in Spain, Barcelona is dissatisfied with the couple's refusal to leave.

This week, in an interview with Spanish media, Torres stated that he was putting his vacation priorities first before heading back to Barça for preseason.

"I am currently with Barça, but football has many twists and turns. I have the phone in aeroplane mode, and I'll pick it up on July 10 [the start of preseason]', he stated.

"I'm only focused on what's mine, training, making use of the preseason that I was unable to accomplish last year [due to injury], and from this point on, proving that I'm a fantastic football player. You'll get news during the next few days.

Since joining Barcelona in January 2022 following his transfer from Manchester City, Torres has been unable to secure a starting position. He has contributed nine assists and 14 goals in 71 games with La Blaugrana.

The Algerian winger saw time as a crucial starter for City during their 2022–23 treble-winning campaign, but he saw little action in the closing weeks.

According to sources who spoke to 90min, Mahrez was disappointed and miffed that he didn't participate in either the FA Cup or Champions League finals.

Mahrez was replaced by Silva for both sets of 90 minutes, and the two players' destinies are linked.

Silva asked to leave City in search of a fresh challenge, according to a June report from 90min, and the club won't stand in his way if an offer in the neighbourhood of £75 million comes in. Silva reportedly has his own suitors in Saudi Arabia, while PSG is reportedly contemplating a bid for him.

Despite the fact that Mahrez has an offer on the table, City are currently unwilling to sell him as well due to Silva's imminent departure.

According to 90min, the 32-year-old has been offered a £45 million contract by the Saudi club Al Ahli.

Mahrez, who is aware that arranging a departure from the Etihad Stadium this transfer window may be challenging, will decide definitively in the coming days whether he wants to move from City to Al Ahli.

City has lost club captain Ilkay Gundogan to Barcelona on a free transfer, and they will likely lose Declan Rice to Arsenal.

On Tuesday, they made their first summer acquisition when they paid £25 million to acquire Mateo Kovacic from Chelsea.

Umtiti paid over €25 million to go from Lyon to the club in 2016, but injuries marred his stay in Catalonia. Over the course of seven years, he would make just 133 appearances for the team, with his lone appearance coming in the 2021–2022 season.

Umtiti will now resume his search for a new club after returning from a successful loan stint with Lecce, as Barcelona has officially announced his departure from the team.

"FC Barcelona and defender Samuel Umtiti have reached an agreement to release the player from the contract binding him to the club until the end of the 2025/26 season," said the statement.

"FC Barcelona would like to express its gratitude to Umtiti and bestow upon him good fortune and future success."

Umtiti, a high-earning player at Camp Nou, was unexpectedly tied down to a long-term deal early last year that committed him to Barcelona until 2026. His original contract was set to end in 2023.

Later, it became clear that Umtiti had consented to the extension in order to ease Barcelona's financial difficulties, agreeing to have the first 18 months of his salary spread out over almost four years.

Following the signing of his agreement, the French defender would never actually play for the team, missing the majority of the 2021–2022 season due to a toe injury before spending last season on loan in Italy with Lecce to demonstrate his fitness.

The most Umtiti has made since the 2017–18 season was 25 appearances for Lecce last season.

The eight-year-old Chelsea youth product spent 19 years on the club's books at Stamford Bridge, making 155 appearances for the Blues across all competitions.

His anticipated breakout season was thwarted by a catastrophic Achilles injury towards the conclusion of the 2018–19 season, and after a loan to Fulham in 2020–21, Loftus-Cheek's Chelsea career would be limited to a squad role.

Loftus-Cheek decided to move to Milan in quest of a new beginning, where he would work with Fikayo Tomori, a former teammate from the Blues, on a four-year deal.

Kai Havertz, Mateo Kovacic, Edouard Mendy, and Kalidou Koulibaly are just a few of the players Chelsea has parted ways with this summer. Cesar Azpilicueta, who has agreed to terms with Inter, is anticipated to join them. Al Nassr of Saudi Arabia is still interested in Hakim Ziyech, but issues raised during a physical have made his transfer uncertain.

Azpilicueta had earlier this month reached a personal agreement with Inter and was anticipated to leave Chelsea on a free transfer to Italy. Chelsea wanted to thank the Spaniard for his 11 years of service by giving him the freedom to choose his own destiny.

Atletico, though, has now entered the discussion with a proposal to return Azpilicueta to his own country.

Since a move back to Spain is thought to appeal to Azpilicueta and his family, Atletico are now predicted to sign the 33-year-old.

Since Matt Doherty, a former Tottenham right-back, was released by Atletico this summer, there is an evident opening in Diego Simeone's defence that Azpilicueta will fill.

Azpilicueta had earlier this month reached a personal agreement with Inter and was anticipated to leave Chelsea on a free transfer to Italy. Chelsea wanted to thank the Spaniard for his 11 years of service by giving him the freedom to choose his own destiny.

Chelsea signed 20-year-old Malo Gusto from Lyon for £30 million in January as part of a deal to be ready for Azpilicueta's departure.

Reece James will have competition from Gusto at right-back, and Levi Colwill's return will make Chelsea's center-back position stronger.

Trevoh Chalobah, who is also being pursued by Inter, is still up in the air, and decisions still need to be made on the futures of Conor Gallagher, Christian Pulisic, Hakim Ziyech, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Romelu Lukaku, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Last week, 90min reported that United had begun negotiations with Inter for Onana as the likelihood of David de Gea leaving Old Trafford increased.

Now that Marotta has acknowledged United's interest in the 27-year-old, he has emphasised the urgency of making a formal offer.

Manchester United has indicated interest in Onana, but that desire must result in an offer or it is not real, according to Marotta. "After that, careful evaluations by the player and us will take over."

Manchester United has indicated interest in Onana, but that desire must result in an offer or it is not real, according to Marotta. ""After that, careful evaluations by the player and us will take over."

Onana was on Chelsea's radar earlier in the summer but doubts about the price caused the Blues to back out of negotiations, according to 90min, who understands that Inter are seeking a fee of €60m to part ways with him.

United must decide shortly whether to launch a bid for Onana as well as how to handle De Gea's employment situation.

De Gea agreed to a contract extension that would have reduced his compensation by about half, to £200,000 per week, but United later withdrew that offer and tried to persuade the custodian to accept an even bigger paycut.

Even if De Gea can be persuaded to stay at Old Trafford, United may still want to sign Onana as manager Erik ten Hag looks for goalkeeping competition of the highest calibre.
